Read Shaun Gale's thoughts following defeat to Hayes and Yeading United.

Gosport fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Hayes and Yeading United at Privett Park thanks to a Moses Emmanuel goal in the sixth minute. A Josh Huggins pass back to Bert White took an unfortunate bobble and as the Boro' 'keeper couldn't control the ball, the Hayes striker was able to walk the ball into an open net.

Though Hayes looked very dangerous on the counter with their pacey and skilful front three, Gosport had the majority of the ball and in truth should have got something out of the game.

As it was, Boro' were left to rue a defensive mistake and failure to secure an equaliser for the second time in a week following defeat at Poole Town at the weekend. But, whilst Gale is disappointed with the result, he says he couldn't have asked for more from his side.

"The performances are great, it's just about getting the results. Earlier in the season at times the performances weren't great and we were getting the results. That's football for you, it frustrates you and it drives you mad. I can't ask anything more from that group of players. We deserved something from the game tonight."

"I'm frustrated mostly because my players were outstanding. Anyone who watches the game will say we deserved something from the game but that doesn't make me happy."

"We haven't got anything out of the game again and that's two games in a row. That's really frustrating and I really feel for the lads. But, if you keep playing like that and keep working as hard as that you will get that rub of the green and we just haven't had that rub of the green yet."

The best chance to equalise fell to Luke Hallett in the 38th minute when the ball fell to him in the box but his quick snapshot was straight into the arms of the Hayes 'keeper whilst Harvey Rew also came close but skied his effort from close range from a powerful Harris-Sealy cross early into the second half.

"We've had a couple of really good chances and we need to take those chances. It's fine lines in football. I look at the team out there and there's five, six 19 year olds out there and if we keep that squad together, we've got a good squad of players and we're building something here."

"It's not an easy thing to say when you've just lost again but we've got to keep the lads positive. They're downhearted tonight because they've given their absolute all tonight and they haven't got the result they probably deserved."

"We've got 15 games to go and there's 45 points available and we've got to get as many of those as possible. If we keep playing the way we are, we'll get that result. It needs to come sooner rather than later but there's a lot of games to play."
