‘Firstly I just want to say credit to Aldershot. They are a very good side, well organised and have some very good players. The game could’ve gone either way.
I know it’s a cliche but penalties for me is the best way to win a cup tie. Yes of course everyone wants to win in 90 minutes but the learning curve and team spirit you get from those moments in a penalty shoot-out to get into a cup final will go along way for my lads and that’s the important part. Football is about making memories and I felt like we deserved that memory tonight.
We had a target at the start of the year of two cup finals and we have achieved that by getting into the two biggest cup finals at this level locally.
Very proud of everyone tonight, we have had a difficult last few weeks but everyone stepped up and showed a crowd of 200+ what we can do and the quality we have all over the pitch.
Another cup final to look forward to BORO’ fans ?
