BORO’ Players Mowvember Donation - Pantry Opens Tuesday Evenings in December

The Club’s Community Support continues through its ‘Gosport Pantry’ initiative based at the AEI Stadium, and open during the week.

After the amazing success of Gosport Borough FC’s - ‘Feed a Family In Need’ operation that offered the help needed, to those who were struggling during the recent Pandemic, the club helped set up and agreed to host ‘The Gosport Pantry’ operation which now goes from strength to strength.

Offering a wide choice of groceries to its members’ who are able to select at least £15 worth of essential staple provisions for just £5, the Pantry is a lifeline for many families in the local community.

The scheme which is open to anyone who needs it, has seen an inevitable increase in its membership numbers recently, and now has over 500 on its books.

Regulars at the Pantry have been quick to offer their support and have sent many messages of thanks & appreciation to the Pantry’s hard working team.

One members was moved to write in and say

‘I just wanted to put in writing what a life saver this pantry is for my daughter .
With Katt in charge we have seen a huge improvement in the variety of food available. My daughter makes mince with vegetables, onions and garlic and makes 6 portions. With the bread and fruit and ham she is able to make.packed lunches for work.
Without the pantry she would not be able to eat hot meals regularly. The number of people using the pantry has gone up since I joined a year ago which shows what a valuable resource this is to the Gosport residents.
The venue is also convenient for parking and queuing under cover so thank you to the chairman of the football club for allowing the pantry to use this space.
To sum up it's a wonderful thing you're doing, to the club for housing it and to Katt and her helpers for making life that bit easier for those on the bread line.
Wonderful
Wonderful.
Thanks so much
A very appreciative mum

The support received a welcome boost recently when the Gosport First Team Players, decided to initiate some fun - fund raising, with their ‘Mowvember’ hair raising antics culminating in a changing room collection raising £160 that they donated to the Pantry along with £25 bucket collection during the game with Didcot…..thanks to all who contributed.

This December’s Pantry & BORO’ Bar diary of festive events, includes a ‘Childrens Christmas Dinner’ on the 14th December and the much loved annual Pantry Santa Run on the 21st December.

Why not come along and support these events, and any additional offers of help or donations to the Pantry would be much appreciated.
