Pat and Joe requested an urgent meeting with the Chairman last evening at which they expressed their desire to leave GBFC and take up an offer from another SPL league club at the earliest possible time. Honouring a gentlemen’s agreement in place between the parties from the outset whereby they would be granted their wishes in such circumstances it is with some regret we have to confirm that Pat & Joe will be leaving the club with immediate effect.
Pat & Joe in their short careers have achieved measurable success and we genuinely thank them both for the time and commitment shown whilst here and we are sure everyone associated with the club wishes them every success in their future careers.
As a club we need to absolve this disappointment regroup and move forward which is exactly what we’’ll do especially with two important matches to tackle in the next four days.
We are very fortunate to have a number of very experienced and committed senior players in our midst, and the confidence that for the immediate future at least the coaching commitments can be addressed from within those ranks. We are pleased to confirm that Danny Hollands an excellent and experienced coach and Rory Williams a club legend will step up to the plate and fulfil those roles for the immediate future starting this evening.
We also have in Mark Summerhill an experienced & committed Football Operations Manager, who we can confirm will be staying at Gosport Borough. Mark will work closely with Danny & Rory as we move on.
We’ll take whatever time is necessary to make the vital decisions to continue the club’s progress and will keep you the fans informed every step of the way.
There are other areas of the club structure and further development of facilities in the pipeline which have been formulated these past few months which will demonstrate the club’s ambitions for higher grade football which can also be relayed at the appropriate time.
Every setback is an invite to grow and progress.
We can depend on you to get behind the boys tonight in a special way I’m sure.
