Gosport Borough Football Club have today confirmed that their experienced
and much respected former professional player Danny Hollands has been
appointed as their new First Team Player/Manager.

Dutchy Hollands started his career with Premier League Chelsea where
he captained the Academy YouthTeam before moving on to enjoy an impressive professional career with the likes of AFC Bournemouth (193 appearances), Charlton Athletic (57
appearances), Portsmouth (76 appearances) and National League
Eastleigh (157 appearances).

His pedigree is second to none and BORO’ fans have taken to Dutchy as
one of their own…with his cultured and passionate leadership on the
pitch delighting The AEI Stadium fans game after game.

Club Chairman Iain McIness is excited by the appointment and has
confirmed his admiration for Danny who he feels is the ultimate
professional and has no hesitation in welcoming his new Player/Manager to the
post as Gosport go in search of a play off place.

Dutchy will be supported in his role by current Football Operations
Manager Mark Summerhill who will adopt the role as temporary Assistant Manager.
We can expect an announcement of the appointment of a new first team
coach in the coming days.

Gosport play their first league game under the new management this
coming Saturday…at home against Walton & Hersham - KO 3pm.
